Safety
checks
on
POLAR
cutting
machines
and
plants:
POLAR's
concept
for
safety
checks
on
high-speed
cutters
has
been
offered
by
POLAR
for
some
time
now.
In
most
countries,
machine
operators
are
required
by
law
to
comply
with
certain
safety
standards.
The
operating
company
has
to
guarantee
that
the
necessary
checks
are
carried out throughout the entire life cycle of the machines.
The
safety
check
has
to
be
carried
out
by
a
qualified
inspector.
Designated
time
intervals
must
be
adapted
to
the
appropriate
machine
and
a
corresponding
test
certificate
issued.
POLAR
developed
a
special
safety
concept
as
early
as
the
beginning
of
the
1970s,
working
closely
with
the
German
Employers'
Liability
Insurance
Association.
It
describes
the
systematic
inspection
of
safety-relevant
equipment
on
POLAR
high-speed
cutters
and
is
regularly
adapted
to
new
European
directives.
The
names
of
qualified
inspectors
can
be
found
on
the
POLAR
homepage
under Services/Customer Services/Safety Inspection.
On
specific
test
points,
POLAR
uses
test
equipment
developed
in-house.
A
successful
safety
test
is
documented
by
a
sticker,
so
that
supervisory
authorities
can
easily
recognize
the
technically
perfect
condition
of
the
POLAR
product.
Safety
checks
should
also
be
carried
out
after
modifications,
longer
downtimes,
relocations
or
other
events.
Regular
inspections
can
prevent
any
damage
leading
to
dangerous
situations
and the employer is able to fulfil his legal obligations.
